Recently Neotech held its sixth supervisory audit, to determine how well the company’s quality management system complies with the requirements of international standard DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.
The audit confirmed that our production processes are distinguished by stable performance, maturity, and an absence of any critical errors.
Of the improvements noted by Intercertifica TÜV, two factors are particularly worthy of mention:
Lowering of complaint volumes for the past year by 30%.
Reduction of late submissions of work by 20% in comparison with the previous period.
The auditors greatly appreciated the new i-Pie information system. As they noted, the system significantly contributes to process management and aids employees in carrying out both the requirements of standard DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 and internal requirements. The system is a practical aid in carrying out basic procedures, and cues workers for the “next step”, helping to track flaws and supervise their correction. Only after executing full supervision of the completeness and consistency of the input of the necessary data does the System signal the worker that all operation requirements have been met and the operation may be considered completed. In essence, the new information system signifies the next step in the development of intellectual business systems.
All undertakings at Neotech in the sphere of perfecting company activity in expansions on the requirements of standard DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 met with the approval of the auditors, who recommended adherence to the next-level standard DIN EN ISO 9004:2000 for further process improvements.
The current audit showed the joint efforts of Intercertifica TÜV and Neotech employees, being short-term, to be most productive and useful. Labor consultations on the implementation of technologies introduced over the past year and recommendations made by the auditors significantly impact the overall and consecutive development of Neotech’s activities.
Our note:
The first certified audit for compliance with international standard DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 took place at Neotech in 2003. Supervisory audits conducted annually within the company confirmed compliance to the standard. The current certificate is valid through December, 2009. Neotech has plans by 2009 to achieve certification according to the next version of international standard ISO 9001, expected to be released before 2009, which will make additional requirements of the company and which assumes further development of the quality management system.
Standard DIN EN ISO 9004:2000 is the logical continuation of standard DIN EN ISO 9001:2000, and contains recommendations for improvements to the quality management system, in effect expanding the requirements of standard DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.
